1-11-11

Today is 1-11-11.  I love exciting dates like that, and numbers.  When I was little, I liked to do "math" on the clock--like pointing out (to anyone who would listen) that the clock said 11:55, and that was awesome because 55 divided by 11 is 5.

So given my love of numbers, you would have thought I could have caught a trend.

Or, for those who prefer pictures to numbers,

Given the observed arithmetic ratio of 10 months, with a standard deviation of 34 days [okay, I'm totally bluffing...I remember next to nothing from statistics], Eliza's next haircut will be on December 3, 2011.  So mark your calendars, because starting on 11-11-11, I'm plastering mine with the gentle reminder: "HIDE ALL SCISSORS."

And bless Eliza's hair-cutting heart. I suppose a self-cut hair do is a rite of passage in childhood...does this make you feel any better!?

Since Eliza's become such a regular, maybe you better just surrender and teach her finer beautician skills while supplying a personalized wig for practice?

HA!!!!!!! I think you should booby trap all your scissors with glue or something sticky, so then you just have to clean out gross hair instead of trying to figure out the new shortest haircut for her every 6 months!

NO!!!! not the self hair cut! Way to do the math to find out the future day. May the scissors all disappear that week!
