I’d like to say I’m offering free Wicked tickets, but that’s definitely not the case because if I had access to more Wicked tickets, I’d be back in a heartbeat, a selfish heartbeat. At least to see the crazy Tevye-lookalike cello player sawing away on his poor cello in the rain after the show, if not to see the AMAZINGLY WONDERFUL play itself! (Emily was right; you have to write about Wicked in CAPITALS!!! And when you're done writing in capitals, you have to call someone who's seen it and gush about it together for at least 30 minutes.)
This morning I showed Sage pictures from last night’s program booklet and made her laugh at my impersonations of Glinda (I mean Galinda) flouncing around during “Popular.” Sage was dazzled and excited with me and for me. It was very cute. Yesterday she kept asking me enthusiastically, "Are you excited to see Wicked, Mommy?!?" That was after she stopped crying about how much she wanted to see it with us. Which only happened after we bribed her with any redbox movie of her choice. ($1.06 versus $50...I think that trade-off will only work for a few more years.)
But back to the giveaway. This morning I got the following touching email:
“Hope this works for you.
If you don't need it send to someone that does. We have to stick together during these hard and uncertain terms. It doesn't matter how much you think a friend might not need it (sometimes we don't know what people are going through friends or no) Enjoy-free stuff!
Please share with your address contacts (GOD might be using you to intervene in a dire situation)
WHO DOESN'T LOVE "FREE"????????
Thanks!!”
Need I add a big "[sic]" to say that the grammar and spacing are original?
COUPONS FOR FREE VELVEETA CHEESE AND SARAN WRAP!!!!!!
(These prizes seem almost as exciting as Wicked tickets when you write them in capital letters.)
Also, as a side note, I wore the biggest earrings I own to see the play. Because that is my idea of ritzy. As I recall, I have only worn them once before, on Halloween. Before I had small grabbing infants that like to rip earrings through earlobes and use them for teethers. Oh yes--AND I wore boots. It was a night to remember.

So even if you're not interested in my Velveeta coupon giveaway, please leave a comment and let me know if you've seen Wicked so I know who I can call and gush with tomorrow.

I'm glad it was so delightful. Now we'll be about to add a song and dance routine to our catch-up time in a couple a weeks. --Mom
The contest is between comments 1 and 2?? Oh, boy! Would I love some free velveeta and saran wrap! Also, I would love to gush with you about Wicked, but I haven't seen it. I don't even know any of the songs. I'm still a good person, though, and if it weren't sold out, I would try to go see it myself. The end.

Whoopsie! How about THREE comments from me? (How about I just go to bed?)
Don't wish, don't start.
Wishing only wounds the heart.
I wasn't blessed to see Wicked with you.
There's a girl I know.
She loved it so . . .
I'm not that girl. :(
Dear Gaaa-linda,
I loved our gushing session! You can call and gush at me any time, because I am a certified gusher. How many more times can I say "gush(ing)(er)" in this comment? Belly-chuckling over your "defying gravity" nose bleed seats and many other clever quips you made in this post. Saran-wrapped cello? Too funny. I could go on and on but I won't because I've used up my gushing quota. (there i said it again)
PS I want to clarify that I am NOT entering to win the velveeta cheese prize, although even with the random integer generator I might have some decent odds. We're neither of us quite up to Pioneer Woman comment levels, but YOU definitley should/could be with your uber-entertaining blog posts!
As far as the earrings go, go big or go home! Glad you had fun. That's cute about Sage being so excited for you.
If I gush about Wicked can I see you flounce around like Galinda? I would have loved to see Sage laughing at that. Too bad she didn't get to go. You look like a babe in that picture. It must be the big glamorous earrings.
I'm a loser- I've never seen Wicked and don't even know the music. But everyone I know that has seen it absolutely loves it, so I really need to get on that. In the meantime, I'd love some free Saran Wrap and Velveeta!
This is the second blog I have read about seeing Wicked in SLC, and I am very jealous! I love the music, but I have never seen it:( Oh yeah, one year for my birthday I wore ginormous hoop earings. I figured it was my birthday so I could go all out. I looked very ritzy as did you:)
Hey! I think a chocolate chip cookie giveaway would generate more interest, especially since my no carb committment is still on vacation(I think I left it in Oceanside at the Fish and Chips spot!) So where did you go to see WICKED? Luckee
the only Wicked I ever saw was the cover of the CD I bought for my girls because I felt they just should have it. The whole roomate thing has been on my mind as Lindsay will be signing up for housing next week. Ha Ha!
I haven't seen Wicked, but I have seen a pretty cute couple on the back row in the nosebleed section! You guys look great and I love you both. SEE YOU SOON!!!
Gush all you want with me, I'll out-gush ya. Let's have a gushing CONTEST! Everyone who has seen the show or heard the music is in it! GO!
I love velveeta and saran wrap and love free! I haven't seen Wicked but glad you had a good time.
