I think there were five times in the nine months of my last pregnancy that I found myself on the other side of the camera.
With my baby boy growing up before my eyes, I decided to take matters into my own hands. Or, rather, into the hands of the timer on the camera.
It took six rounds of ten pictures on my camera's self-timer, but it was worth it to get this one picture that I love of myself and the little guy that spends over eight hours a day (and night) in my arms.
It may take another nine months of exercise before I'm willing to post a picture of anything below my neck. (Or nineteen. Or ninety.)
But in the sweetness of this little baby, I can find love for myself and even for my stretched out stomach.
Especially if I can be the one positioning the lens.
(Inspired by this.)

ah sweet picture! So what kind of baby carrier is that?
aw. two cuties :)
Beautiful Janel! Your face, your baby, your words.
Love the post!
Beautiful picture Janel! Did I mention I think he looks a lot like you? He's so cute!
I love that sweet picture of you and Christian, and how he is just peeping over at something with little bright eyes! Good for you!! You look and are so great.
Love this picture. You look great, no seriously. And way to hold him 8 hours a day...just think of those tone arms...
Good for you! It's tempting to shy away from that camera... although you are gorgeous and shouldn't! Both you and baby look wonderful :)
This is such a cute picture! This will be one to frame and treasure always! That camera is pretty cool...when I try to take one of the kids and I my arm ends up in some yoga position while I try to grin and hold the kid and look comfortable. It's really not a good look for me. I look like the Incredibles mom in the photos with my arm stretched out.
Anyway...you are so cute and so is he...a perfect little pair!
You are too hard on yourself. I'm sure you look great. I think I hold Lucy that much everyday too and she's almost 8 months old!
I love this picture. You are beautiful! (and so's that baby)
And on the topic of no-photos-below-the-neck, I recently watched this 20-minute film on motherhood and bodies.
It's a lot of tummy time (if you watch, you'll see what I mean). But it's beautiful.

beautifully captured!! You sure have lucky kiddos
NICE pic! Shoot, if you can get one that good, you don't need any others for the previous 9 months! :)
Your face sure looks like a hot mama, and that's all that matters anyhow. what a cutie pic!
love it! Enjoy your little man before he grows too fast!
