There once was a woman who lived in a shoe.
She had so many children, she didn't know what to do.
She fed them all broth without any bread
and spanked them all soundly and sent them to bed.
And that woman was WAY nicer than me today. Because at least she didn't throw anyone's stuffed animals in the trash can.

HA HA!! Put it back in and run away! Then just arrange her other 500 dogs in the shape of a big dog and she'll never know.
So there must be a story behind that dog? You know how much I love stuffed animals. . . I've thrown away many- on top of the many I've given away!
What did the offending old stuffed dog do to warrant mommy wrath?! I feel like doing that just about every single day and with every single one of my kids toys....oh to have a play room just for toys that i could shut the door too and never have to enter! "Congrats" on the kitty! I'm sure your girls LOVE it and hopefully you and Mark do/will too. Ours lasted a year and when we moved into the new house we gave it back...yup we're pet failures like that! Sad, but true.
I often tell Caleb to pick up his toys, because if I do, they will go in time out (and, if I'm really frustrated, the garbage). Time out for toys isn't usually very effective, because I pick them up, and he just forgets about them till several days/weeks later, when I finally return them and it's like having a new toy all over again. But I threw a (cheap) toy away once, and then fished it out when he wasn't looking too. Although, I also remember you telling me how you throw out your kids "junk" toys every so often to keep from being over run by them. I now understand why, and am at that stage, too.
I'd like to hear the tale behind the dumping threat...Perhaps the next blog posting?
You could always donate the dog to that lady in Mom & Dad's ward that collects stuffed animals for kids who are needy/poor (that's the only way I finally convinced myself to part with a bunch of my stuffed friends).
Or you could create a maid-bag. Get some work done in exchange for them getting the toy back!
