Manager monolith

I have been putting off the [herculean] task of figuring out the spring/summer rental situation for my dad's three apartments, over which I occasionally claim the title "Manager" (especially when it comes to getting a paycheck). It makes me think of this cartoon.

cartoon from www.weblogcartoons.com

Other things that are too hard to do:
1. Go to bed
2. Divide up my family plan cell phone bill
3. Do the two days worth of dishes that await me in the kitchen
4. Finish my sewing projects
5. Send in my phone charger for a replacement
6. Clean my desk
7. Get off the internet (also referred to as "floofing")

Okay, all those things sound fun (except sewing), so if you can just get yourself to bed, it will be tomorrow and I can do them. In exchange for twenty full body massages.

I hear you. Getting off the internet and getting to bed are hard for me too. Especially when I have finals I don't want to study for!

Blogs are NOT floofing . . . it's creating family history! No criticism for keeping the commandments! --Mom

Hey, I like that; no criticism for keeping the commandments! I'll store it up in my arsenal. Do comments on other people's blogs count as keeping the commandments?

Love the cartoon. Also, I feel a kinship for Eliza in that picture of her trying to get at the cookie dough (?) from the kitchenaid.

So, I too can't ever seem to manage to get myself to do 2 day old dishes in the sink. It's just bad.

Love it! I've never managed apartments, but I think I can relate to everything else on that list. I often sit at the computer, just feet away from my sink full of dishes to be washed- glad I'm not the only one!

Janel-okay, so that cartoon describes exactly what I am doing at this second! I turned to reading people's blogs trying to put off the loads and loads of laundry I have to do! Doesn't it all just pile up and we all need an out every once in awhile! We miss you guys!

Here's my tip for doing something productive and fun at the same time. Start a load of laundry/dishes (sorry you have to have a dishwasher for this) and then sit down at the computer. When the washer/dryer is done your time is up and you've gotten work done and you got to play a little too. Although when children interrupt everything goes out the window. Good luck with your to do list.

Your desk was mighty clean when I left, so what happened since then?

Mickey, a few things cleaned themselves up before you came, that aren't usually that way. The desk happened to be one of them. Perhaps you should come more often!

I know just how you feel. I have about a billion things I "should" be doing right now other than writing this comment. Still, it was totally worth it.

We found your blog! Hope that's okay :)

I forgot to say that we had your old blog linked to ours. We would laugh about how you never posted. The most recent post is Halloween. I still kept checking back hoping you added more. I'm glad you have a different blog. They're addicting aren't they?

I think that cartoon should be my motto too! "Floofing" is such a great term I think I will adopt it. And come on, 2 days worth of dishes in the sink to be washed?, sheesh that is like the easiest thing to do- I DO-NOT understand why you would be putting that off. Can't even relate.

Janel--the "get sewing projects done" is on my list too! I always start them & then get too busy. And somehow find time to blog...hmmmm...my priorities are wherever the fun is!

Janel,

I happened to go to Caroline's blog and you were on there as one of her friends. I have been trying to get in touch with you for years! Please send me an email with your address and phone number. I saw 2 daughters on the blog. Are there any other little bambinos?

Allison "Bishop" Lucas

Top 5 reasons I love Janel:
1) She looks fabulous after 6 years and 2 kids!

2) She is as funny as ever (just check out her blog and you'll see what I am talking about!)

3) She is a managerial mastermind.

4) She is good at Math.

5) Her kids will be musically inclined due to her parenting.
