Morning prayer

A few days ago Sage helped me make waffles for breakfast. Afterwards, Mark said the morning family prayer. Sage clearly thought important things were being left out, and felt inclined to prompt Mark in her funny Spanglish. (Sage's words are in italics.)

"Gracias por la comida que Mommy nos preparó..."

“y Sage también”

"Y te damos gracias…"

“y Eliza shaked the sugar”

"Ayuda nos a tener un buen dia..."

“Ah! A garbage truck outside!”

Do so many 3-year-olds have ADD that we don’t call it ADD for them, we just call it “being three?”

I remember paying the best attention I ever paid during prayers when Dad started with Krista and went through every specific member of the family. It just adds a little interest. Besides, how can you think about praying (or speaking Spanish) when there's a garbage truck outside?!

I agree with Danielle, can anyone pay attention when there's a garbage truck outside? It may be possible, but I'd have to see it to believe it...

Rumor has it that as a child my husband would ask to be woken up around 6am on garbage day so he wouldn't miss the garbage truck!
