As for my own Lent sacrifices, I should probably give up chocolate and sweets since Lily could stand to have the percent of my breast milk lowered from the “cream” level to “half and half.” Today Lily's physical therapist laughed and noted that "Lily even has rolls on the back of her neck!" The therapist isn't the only one who noticed our little butterball. After watching Madagascar 2, Sage has been heard to lean in to Lily lovingly and whisper "
My Lent goal for Mark is to stop changing the words in Evita songs. “Don’t cry for me, little dogger…”
As for Lily's Lent ambitions, I generously suggested at the party that it might behoove her to sacrifice her nighttime feedings. Like I said, we’re all about sacrifice around here.
Happy lent.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with cream. Fat makes everything taste better...that's my motto anyway. I'm voting for Lily to pull through on her sacrifice. Hmmm, what should I give up?...maybe I could cut back from 8 hours of worthless computer time each day to 7 1/2? I'm selfless, what can I say! PS Any chance you might be able to slip some oreo truffles in the mail to Alaska?!
I LOVE the idea of giving out Lent goals for all the sinful people around us :) Can it be a double not doing thing? Like say Mike's Lent goal is to not not scrub the bathtub. Aidan's & Willow's would be to not not pick up their legos, and Marty's would be to not not miss me when I'm gone. As for myself my goal will be to not not say what I think when I think I should.
Maybe there could be a holiday when we get to have other people's talents for a few months! I want to have your ability to make people laugh! Mark's ability to be sensitive to people! Sage's ability to think the world solely revolves around me, and Eliza and Lily's ability to make everyone stare and say "Ooooh! She's sooo cuuute!"
Ha! Sage is so generous to cut down to 3 movies a day. I think Dad's sacrifice should be to not sleep through any more forums!
Well of course you can't resist sweets when they look BOMB like those! Stop tempting yourself. :) Good work on setting such a righteous Lent goal.
I loved hearing the William's "sacrifices" for Lent. It must be genetic . . . (from way back)! --Mom
Sage is so noble to give up her fourth movie of the day. Not a bad idea to give up that kind of thing; maybe I'll give up all my clothes shopping sprees at Nordstrom and expensive weekly nights out.
You're so funny Janel!
Why does Lily have a Physical Therapist?
Why does this post make me miss Notre Dame? And why does everyday feel like Fat Tuesday around here? I guess I too could sacrifice some things... perhaps my nightly icecream binge. Thanks for the inspiration :)
Um, I think chubby babies are visual illustrations of their mother's hard work and nights and weeks of sacrifice! Count those fat rolls as the blue ribbons they are! (I am in no way bitter because Caleb was only ever in the 11th percentile for weight. Ahem.)
Does Lily have torticollis?
Wow! Inspiring! For Lent, maybe I will give up changing Micah's diaper. hmmm...
yay I like it
The picture in the previous post is so cue! We need some more picturs of the chunk. So how did the chunk pass Eliza by? :)
Are those 3 separate movies, or the same movie 3 times? I wish I could give up homework. Sacrifice my grades... It was great to see you guys yesterday!
I really like your blog. I like you.
I can't tell you how much this post made Larry and I laugh, out loud. Especially the "I like em chunky" bit, we keep singing it and delightedly imagine Sage cooing it at Lily. So great.
