You know it’s time to get a haircut when…

--You drive by a field of horses, and your 1 1/2-year-old says, "There's ponytails!" [and she's referring to the horses themselves]

- -You survey the number of days last week your hair was in a ponytail and stop counting at six because the result is too embarrassing.

--Both of your kids like to try and feed your ponytail to you multiple times a day. (Where do they learn this? It’s not like I pull their ponytails around and stuff them in their mouths…although, wait a second, that might not be a bad idea…)

--Your hair is just the right length to hang right in your baby niece’s face and tickle her as you’re trying to rock her to sleep.

- -After one hot day last week, you remembered what it’s like to blow dry in the summer, and now you’re ready to bury your blow dryer.

--You catch a glimpse of yourself in the mirror after church and realize that less is more, and more is sometimes just gross.

--Split-end hunting has become a new hobby—almost as addicting as smoking.

--You’ve gone nine months without a haircut. (Hypothetically speaking, of course.)

--You have to have a membership at Sam's Club to support your shampoo and conditioner needs.

--You need something fresh and exciting to distract from your 14-week-pregnant belly [the belly growth stage that looks like you took up a job at Krispy Kreme doughnuts a couple of months ago.]

--When allowed to air dry, your hair has a unique way of transforming itself into a Bozo-the-Clown do.

--All your sisters are getting super cute cuts:

Ha! I would love to see Sage and Eliza's faces if you tried to stick their ponytails in their mouths. Sage would probably try to give you a time-out.

Although your sisters do have cute hair and I personally am a big fan of haircuts, I must say that you can pull off a ponytail like few people can. I'm jealous. And I have been for exactly five years now (because I think five years ago tonight, we were sharing a bed).

I think it's time you had a good haircut, not that a ponytail looks bad but Mark's got a job now so go for it. You're a lawyers wife you have to be stylish, right? I wish I wasn't so cheap about hair cuts. I'm sick of cutting my own (and the kids') and right now I just want to shave my head and wear cute hats. Is anyone every happy with their hair? I think it's usually a case of the grass always being greener or the hair always being better.

Yeah, since Mark's making the big bucks you better go get the spa treatment. I have to admit that I debated about going short when I saw that your hair always seemed to look nice long, and that's the truth. But when mine's long it's even more embarrassing than yours how often it winds up in the ponytail. As you well know.

I was laughing too. The horse comment made me smile :) I'm a bad person to ask about getting a hair cut since I chopped almost 12 inches off a few months ago :'( We're getting use to it and sometimes I like it :)

do you have enough to donate?

I am getting a haircut for purely selfish, non-donating, reasons. Besides, what cancer patient would want a wig of split ends? Yuck!

Your hair grows faster than anyone I know. As soon as you get it really long, you chop it, then 6 months later it's long again. However you cut it it will be great!
