Today when I was trying to take a nap while sharing my bed with two insomniatic preschoolers, I was reminded of a quote that I read last week, "Raising children is like being pecked to death by ducks."
Just as I was trying to remember if the quote was about ducks or ducklings I felt two feet poke me in the rear and a little voice rang out, "Squishy bum!"
Peck, peck, peck.

HA!!!! What a funny sulky duckling picture, and why are the preschoolers all insomniacs?! Oh wow. And I don't even have to ask whose daughter makes comments about squishy bums! (Mark's, if you were wondering.)
ha ha ha! If Micah ever calls me a squishy bum, he will be skipping all sleepovers, birthday parties and trips to anywhere for the next long time.
I add my ha ha ha! to the above comments. Thanks for the laugh Janel! I can always count on a chuckle, if not an outburst of laughter, when I visit your blog. Which is pretty much at least once a week. :D PS-I also was so fortunate as to sample the frozen pizza that you made and left with Ben & Emily it it was positively scrumptious--gourmet! My compliments and thanks!
Ha...that's one thing I DON'T miss...interrupted naps! Good luck getting your rightful sleep time.
So true. Our children do keep us humble don't they?
niiiice. I don't think I ever would have compared my children to ducks, but now that you mention it. And that picture of you and Lilly pretty much sums up my life with Kayla right now.
Remind me why I want to be a mom?
Funny post.
I don't think my kids are like ducks. They're more like the geese found everywhere around here. Loud, demanding, moving when they want to, and messy. And I do sometimes feel like I'm being pecked to death.
I'm so glad my kids aren't obsessed with my bum. Maybe when she's a little taller she'll obsess about a different body part. I guess it could be worse.
That reminds me of--
"you have a chubby,
chubby...
chubby bum."
Tee hee
