And I hope Mark also doesn't mind last year when I accidentally asked his boss to "be mine." It wasn't my fault, though. I bought some Dove chocolates (dark, of course) and inserted my own special Valentines messages, which may have erred a little..okay, a lot...on the scandalous side. I slipped them in with Mark's lunch. When he came home I asked how he liked his chocolates, only to hear that he had given them to his boss, a fellow dark chocolate lover, who had been having a bad day. I couldn't get to the phone fast enough, and I demanded that he call her and ask if she'd eaten them (she hadn't...phew!), and would she mind exchanging them for different ones the next day.
This year I got Mark something that he would be hard pressed to give away casually, even if someone were having a really bad day. Don't be deceived by its potting soil-like appearance. Good things come in potting-soil-like packages. At least this good 10 pound package of chocolate chips does. (Bless you, Costco). That should get us through at least until Easter.

I think your next blog should include the valentines messages Barb received last year by mistake. :) --Mom
costco chocolate chips are awesome!! my roommate would just get them out and snack on them!! heaven. good present janage
Does this have anything to do with potty training???? hehe
BTW, aDORable pic! Love the lighting. You are not only a talented writer, but photographer also. Cindy
Were you mortified??? and more importantly, was the recipient a nun???!!! My heart stopped for you, but started again when you said she hadn't opened them yet, phew close call.
Eliza is SO creative and clever, isn't she?!
I can't handle how cute and big and different Lily looks!!!!!!!! Little flapper. I wish I had seen the red sticker on her forehead; that is something Jacob would have never thought of! Wow, that bag of choc chips is even bigger than I expected. Maybe we could use one around here (For me, that is. Jacob's one chocolate chip per potty incident goes a long way.)
p.s. My favorite thing is to nibble Amy's chubby cheeks. The other day though I accidentally poked her eyeball and felt really bad. She just kept blinking over and over trying to get the pain to go away. Oops.
I don't blame you-- I would steal Lily for my valentine if I weren't on the other side of the globe. She is adorable.
Oh, and if you need any help eating the chocolate chips, I volunteer!
Can Lily be my Valentine? She is adorable! And I too think you should reveal the scandalous contents of that misplaced note - that's hilarious.

Too funny about the dove chocolates. ahh, the story it could have been.
It took us a year to get through that very same bag of chocolate chips. See if you can beat us.
well, i can't blame eliza. lily's head is too irresistable--for feet, stickers, chocolate, etc. :)
We buy giant bags of chocolate chips at costco, too! I knew you guys were kindred spirits.
Oh that picture of Lily is the cutest thing ever! I laughed so hard about the "dirty" chocolates given to Marks nun boss. I am going to having to share it with a few people. Great job on the bag o' chips too!
I'm dying about your Valentine's mishap from last year. SO funny! And I just can't get over what cute kids you make. And who knew Costco made such an enormous bag of chocolate chips????
