I may never go out again

Four Reasons I May Never Go Out Again

  1. My 3-year-old hates to do up her own carseat, even though she can.
  2. My 1-year-old refuses to let me do up her carseat, because she thinks she can do it herself, and insists on proving this every time. [And the lower harness is the jigsaw puzzle kind—tricky for adults!]
  3. No matter how long the car ride is, and how much she wants to get out of the car while it’s in motion, my 1-year-old refuses to get out when we finally arrive. She just wants to sit in the car and rebuckle her carseat. Apparently the 5 minutes of buckling it in the first place were not enough.
  4. The governor just passed a law requiring all children in the state to be in booster seats through age 8. I’m pretty sure he doesn’t have kids. Or he hates his wife. And if not that, she probably hates him now.

Public transportation is looking more and more appealing. Either that or hermitage, until my youngest is 9.

haha Janel :) We used to have a carseat that pulled over the front and buckled down between the legs. Well, I don't know how long it took me to figure it out, but Tyler, Derek and Becky definitely all figured out how to unbukle it with their feet, which they loved to do. So it was ALWAYS my job to sit next to the baby and hold their feet down so they couldn't unbuckle the seat and escape while we were driving down the freeway. Kids can never seem to play by the rules do they?

Ugh, age 8?! That's barely younger than Heather. If I keep going at the same rate of children, that means I will have four or five children all in carseats when Jacob is 8. Just what every mother wants.

Eliza is so obsessed with her carseat! I couldn't believe she didn't even care when I left her in the car and started heading inside the other day. (So much for scaring her into obeying!)

Ah me . . . ! I remember when you were all little and I had to buckle up 3 carseats and one booster (actually Krista was finally able to do that . . . that is when she decided to cooperate) to go anywhere. And you wonder why we rarely went anywhere for a "quick little trip?" --Mom :)

I'm so glad to know that others have the same "issues" I do, aren't kids little oxymorons (spelling?)

hahahaha....I so agree on the last one and the one that they can do it themselves. Emma actually wants to sit in the drivers seat and drive and the car and she SCREAMS everytime we put her in her carseat (she's been doing that from the day that we brought her home) SOOOOOO ANNOYING....
